KHAIRPUR, Oct 25: Armed men gunned down a teenage girl and a man in the name of honour in Ramzan Ja Pirr village in the kutcha area near the Indus river, 65 kilometres from here, on Thursday evening.

According to villagers, the armed men first barged into a house and opened fire on Sobia Mallah, 18, then sought out Dilsher Mallah, 28, outside the village and killed him too.

The relatives of the slain girl and the man told journalists at the hospital that the couple were innocent and were falsely accused of having an affair. Police said that an FIR had been lodged on behalf of the state at the Phulloo police station against three unidentified men. — BoC
