Nawaz, Karzai, Cameron reaffirm commitment for Afghan peace

LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghan President Hamid Karzai and British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday reaffirmed their continuing commitment for the Afghan peace process.

The three leaders during their trilateral meeting held at 10 Downing Street discussed economic cooperation and the Afghan-led peace process to which they all reaffirmed their continuing commitment.

They continued their dialogue about Afghanistan and Pakistan's shared interest in advancing regional peace, stability and prosperity.

The meeting took place following the 9th meeting of World Islamic Economic Forum (WIFE).

British Premier Cameron earlier welcomed Afghan President Karzai and Prime Minister Sharif for the trilateral discussions.

This was the first meeting of the heads of three countries since Nawaz Sharif assumed the office of the prime minister.
