QUETTA, Oct 30: Eight people, among them a woman, died and 20 others suffered injuries when a coach plunged into a ditch near Qila Saifullah, 170km north of here, on Wednesday.

Levies officials said the coach, carrying around 40 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar, overturned when the driver lost control over the steering wheel before it fell into the ditch. Seven men and a woman died and 20 others received injuries.

Personnel of Levies and other law-enforcement agencies carried out the rescue work. The bodies and the injured were shifted to the District Hospital Qila Saifullah from where those with serious wounds were sent to Quetta, Levies officials said.
