Shia Muslims all across Pakistan gather in their respective cities for the annual Muharram processions. Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar is observed around the world for ten days of mourning in remembrance of martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.H), during the battle of Karbala in Iraq 680 AD.
