KARACHI, Nov 20: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah held a meeting with the president of A.E.C Company of Saudi Arabia, Dr Ghassan-Al-Shibi, in Dubai on Wednesday who agreed to establish 300-500 megawatts solar energy farm projects in different parts of Sindh to overcome energy crises.

The AEC, according to a government handout issued in Karachi and Dubai after the meeting, decided to provide 200,000 water meters for Karachi Metropolitan and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units for the people of interior of Sindh under grant in aid.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said: “We have very cordial, close, friendly and religious relations with Saudi Arabia and as such any investment from friendly country like Saudi Arabia will be warmly welcomed.”

He said the decisions of the AEC president would prove a milestone and would further improve and strengthen ties between the people of Saudi Arabia and Sindh.

He said that his government was working on war footing basis to overcome energy crises and would provide relief to the common people and encourage industrialisation and investments to bring prosperity to the province. He assured the management of the company of his full support and co-operation in the implementation of the project.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and finance adviser Murad Ali Shah were also present.
