UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the shelling of the Russian embassy in Damascus, which left one person dead and nine injured.

It termed the bombing a “heinous terrorist act”, and reaffirmed the need to combat all manifestations of terrorism “by all means”, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law.

“The members of the Security Council are outraged and strongly condemn the mortar shelling on November 28 against the Embassy of the Russian

Federation in Damascus, Syria, which killed one and wounded 9 people including the embassy security personnel,” the 15-nation body said in statement issued in New York on Thursday.
