MADRID, Dec 13: A far-right group launched a fraud lawsuit on Friday against Spanish King Juan Carlos’s daughter Cristina, the latest twist in a case that has plunged his family into scandal.

The king’s youngest daughter Cristina, 48, would be his first direct relative ever to appear in court accused of wrongdoing if the judge investigating the case summoned her as a suspect.

Manos Limpias, a litigious far-right pressure group, lodged a suit against her alleging tax evasion and money laundering, in a court filing. The court on the island of Mallorca is investigating Cristina’s tax affairs and has said it will decide within weeks whether to formally summon her as a suspect.—AFP
