LAHORE: Establishment of emergency service in 12 tehsils and a medical college at Gujranwala were among the nine development schemes approved by the Punjab government on Wednesday with an estimated cost of Rs9,793.131 million.
Approval was also granted for the provision of sewerage system for union councils 117, 118 and 120 of Lahore at a cost of Rs4,169.949 million in the 31st meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of 2013-14 fiscal year presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi.
Establishment of emergency service in 12 tehsils of Punjab (Phase-I, revised) was approved at a cost of Rs736.689 million and of Gujranwala Medical College (revised) at a cost of Rs1346.080 million.
The other approved schemes included construction of 30 residences for judicial officers in Civil Lines, Rawalpindi, at a cost of Rs240.080 million; widening or improvement of Circular Road around Katchery Compounds from TMA Chowk to Ayub Chowk through Rail Bazaar Chowk, Kot Road (length 7.52km) in Jhang district at the cost of Rs246.511 million; widening or improvement (dualisation) of Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road (from km No 3.07 to 43.50) in Sahiwal and Pakpattan districts at the cost of Rs1507.686 million; widening or improvement of Alipur-Muzaffargarh Road (Shehr Sultan To Alipur, length 21km) in Muzaffargarh district (revised) at a cost of Rs915.872 million; construction of Ring Road (remaining portion, length 5.2km) in Dera Ghazi Khan district at a cost of Rs322.703 million and reconstruction or rehabilitation of damaged shops of Masjid and Madressa Taleemul Quran in Raja Bazaar of Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs307.561 million.
