ISLAMABAD: Chief of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-S), Maulana Samiul Haq, who also head the Taliban negotiating committee said on Monday that the list of prisoners whom the Taliban want freed had been received and would soon be discussed, DawnNews reported.
Talking to media persons in the federal capital, Sami said the Taliban's announcement of a one-month cease fire should be taken as a blessing and all women, children and elderly in government captivity should be released.
He said the whole nation was united for peace talks and that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had shown political maturity over the issue. He also said that the government's negotiating committee had made efforts to end the deadlock existing between the government and the Taliban mediating committees.
He said the Taliban's condemnation of today's attack in Islamabad was a welcome gesture, adding that the approach of the group was also commendable.
Sami said public sentiment was taken into consideration by deciding to hold talks and these negotiations should reach their logical conclusion.
Maulana Sami also said that every attack should not be attributed to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), adding that the outlawed militant organisation would have to dissociate itself from all terror attacks taking place in the country.
He also said that enemies of the country would keep carrying out attacks to derail the negotiations and peace talks would have to be protected against internal and external conspiracies.
Sami said following the 9/11 attacks the decisions of a dictator had brought destruction to the country.
He further said that even the parliament had demanded a review of the enslaving policies.

Every suspected militant in Pakistan's custody should have an immediate and fair trial, and if found guilty, immediate punishment. Negotiate with TTP and its many offshoots only upon every militant turning himself and his weapons in to the government with no demands. Otherwise, wipe them out, whatever they may call themselves.

Fair enough. When we decided to talk to Terrorists this was inevitable. If we think Taliban are going to listen and say yes to our demand we are living in fool's paradise. The kneejerk reaction of the following comments is natural but what Terrorists can do is also evident from todays atrocity in Islamabad. Talks are going to be give and take. What we can ask Sami and co is for the whereabouts of the people behind todays attack as a starter.

This would be the worst mistake if government of Pakistan even accepts the existance of such mosters. I am quite sure they will never want the killers be on lose. Sorry to give dreadful suggestion, but it is necessary to torture them and destroy their corpses once all information is obtained from them. Keeping such blood thirsty monsters alive is a dangerous idea.

I think it's a blessing in disguise. Judiciary has always been terming the evidence as "insufficient" and releasing terrorists. This list serves as incontrovertible proof that these individuals are terrorists and have been involved in terrorist activities. Judiciary should now show some spine and immediately convict them and the govt should hang them the first thing in the morning! Judiciary shouldn't reinforce the impression that Mr Ch has left his blind eye for terrorists as his legacy.

TTP should take the list and lump it! Enough of the murderous cowardice and machinations of these enemies of Islam and Pakistan. In the name of Islam they have created the greatest fitna in the history of the sub-continent. Had they tried to do the same in the times of the Rightly guided Khalifas of the Muslims, they would have been hunted down and killed en mass for bringing such tribulation amongst Muslims.

Molana represents TTP not pakistani nation. So he can't describe pakitani nations point of view.
I beleive TTP must be punished for killing of our innocent people on the name of islam. I strongly believe that slam is religion of peaceand harmoney.

Everyone wants to take on these terrorists.. LETS START AT THE RIGHT END!!
There are approximately 8000 sentenced prisoners waiting to be executed in Pakistani jails.. WE MUST EXECUTE THEM!!
Its not easy to get someone death sentence in PK. These are those that had such overwhelming evidence against them that could not get past the most abused judicial process.
EU had pressured Zardari to put a moratorium on executions.. since then it has been linked to continued aid and hence Sharif is not going ahead.
As long as these live in prisons, we have to spend on their security in overcrowded prisons and Taliban would always exert pressure to get them released. I say no is the best time to get started in a batch of 1000 at a time.
There are reports of many high profile prisoners in Karachi having been 'swapped out' with bonus people filling in for them, we all can guess which party they belong from...
LETS START!
