PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Industries Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would provide the best possible industrial policies to industrialists and investors.

He said that the province had huge potential, but it was never exploited by the previous provincial governments. He said that the investment road show would soon be arranged at Dubai to attract foreign investors to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The minister was addressing a meeting at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries here on Friday. KPCCI president Zahid Shanwari, former presidents of the chamber, investors and the relevant officials attended the meeting.

The provincial minister assured the investors that they would be provided protection and huge investment opportunities would also be created for them. He said that fast industrial progress could be achieved in the province through the collective struggle of stakeholders.

Mr Yousafzai stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa being a gas producing province should be provided privileges by the federal government and he would fight against the ban on gas connections for new industries.

Moreover, he stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was fighting on frontline for the whole Pakistan from last 11 years, but nothing had been done for the betterment of its people.

He said that the federal government wanted to keep the province backward by imposing ban on gas connections and electricity, which might be a revenge of the PML-N defeat in last general elections. —Bureau Report
