ISLAMABAD: Former president retired General Pervez Musharraf will stay in Karachi for an indefinite period during which he will not attend court hearings of any case against him.
“He will not attend court proceedings because he is not well and is under treatment in Karachi,” his lawyer Ahmed Raza Qasuri told Dawn.
Mr Musharraf has been asked to appear in a court in Quetta on Monday to attend the hearing of Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case or face arrest. He has already been indicted by a special court in a high treason case.
“We will present a medical certificate in the court and tell it that Mr Musharraf is not well, therefore he cannot attend the proceedings,” the lawyer said.
In reply to a question, he said Mr Musharraf would stay in Karachi as long as his treatment required him to do so.
