The true heroes in Pakistan are selfless, compassionate and brave ambulance drivers featured in this video. Thank you Karachi University students and dawn.com for giving us a much needed perspective of the incredibly hard work and emotional toll our brave ambulance drivers must endure when saving lives of children and victims of bombing, target killing and mindless violence.
Our government needs to pass strict laws and enforcement to allow the ambulance drivers to get from point A to point B. Those cars blocking or hindering the ambulance drivers should be heavily fined for these ambulance drivers are saving lives - this is the least the government should do! The least our government can do is provide police car escorts to the ambulance drivers.

Good approach Fiza, if you allow me to suggest in this context that instead of providing police car escorts, its high time to bring public awareness to know and understand the concept of white line drawn on the extreme left side of the road, which is only for ambulances and dignitaries !
Salam and Salute to our ambulance drivers who performs their thankless duties without any return, we can atleast give hidden sadika for them when and where we can do !
GOOD JOB AMBULANCE DRIVERS !

I totally agree with you re white lines to designate a separate lane for emergency vehicles such as ambulances. Also a social campaign with billboards and media broadcasts could be helpful to increase awareness to help ambulance drivers. However the government needs to ensure that it will step up and help the ambulance drivers with strict enforcement laws.
