The year 2014 marks the centenary of the start of the First World War.
Here is a selection of pictures that are part of a previously unpublished set of World War One (WW1) images from a private collection.
The pictures offer an unusual view of varied and contrasting aspects of the conflict, from high tech artillery to mobile pigeon lofts, and from officers partying in their headquarters to the grim reality of life and death in the trenches.

The pakistani brain is still somewhat 'colonized'. To mark the commemoration of WW1, one would expect a Pakistani institution to remind our people of the people who died in WW1 but who hailed from our land. I advise the editor to watch the BBC documentary: Muslim Tommies! When will be stop fighting other peoples wars and remembering the dead of others!
