KARACHI: Three suspected militants were shot dead in an `encounter’ in Pak Colony area on Monday night, officials said.

A police patrol was attacked by four suspects on two motorcycles near Mewashah graveyard, Site SP Fida Hussain Janwari said. They threw a hand-grenade on the police van but the cops remained unhurt.

In retaliatory firing by the police, three suspects were wounded while the fourth one could not be located. The wounded were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared them as dead.
