LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Wednesday.
Regional situation besides ongoing development projects being implemented in Pakistan with Chinese cooperation were discussed during the meeting, says a handout. Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal was also present on the occasion.
The chief minister thanked Yi for his role in the implementation of an economic package announced by China for Pakistan. He said the considerable progress made on the economic corridor during just one year reflected the sagacity and interest being taken by the leaderships of the two countries.
Shahbaz said Pakistan had decided to launch a decisive war against terrorism as no progress could be made without its elimination. He said Islamabad was speedily implementing the Gwadar project and the process of acquisition of land had been completed after making payments.
Foreign Minister Yi said no hurdle would be allowed in the way of the economic package, including Karachi-Lahore Motorway, and other projects and China was ready to even relax rules and regulations for Pakistan.

He said terrorism was a common problem of China and Pakistan as militants were enemy of both countries. He said China fully supported the operation launched by Pakistan against militants.
