PESHAWAR: Unknown persons killed the personal secretary (PS) of former Member National Assembly Nasir Khan Afridi, in Peshawar’s Tajabad area on Thursday.

According to the police, Bismillah Khan was traveling on Ring Road in Peshawar's Tajabad area when unknown motorcycle-riding gunmen opened fire on him.The attackers fled from the scene after the attack.

Police further said that the incident appeared to be the result of a long-standing dispute.

A case was registered at Pishtakhara’s police station on the complaint of the deceased's brother.

Nasir Khan was elected from Khyber tribal region NA-46 (Tribal Area IX) during the 2013 general elections.

Later in March this year, he was disqualified by an election tribunal over a petition filed by a losing candidate Hamidullah Jan Afridi which claimed that the election was rigged.

The petitioner, Mr Hamidullah, had levelled several allegations against Mr Nasir, including that of bogus polling, rigging and concealment of assets in the nomination papers.
