KARACHI: A pilot-less aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force crashed Wednesday morning in Sujawal in Sindh's Thatta district, DawnNews reported.

PAF sources said the crashed aircraft was a pilot-less trainee plane and no casualties were reported until the filing of this report.

Last week, an unmanned PAF aerial vehicle made an emergency landing near Sargodha because of a technical fault, causing minor damage to the plane.

PAF spokesman Air Commodore Tariq Mehmood said the UAV was on its routine flight when it had to make an emergency landing because of some technical fault. He said no loss had occurred to any life or property on the ground.

Pakistan's armed forces use locally made drones for surveillance as the country is engaged in a fight against the Taliban and a militant insurgency.

The US also conducts drone strikes on suspected militants in the country, a source of tension between Washington and Islamabad.
