Altaf lashes out at ‘establishment’ for prejudice against MQM

KARACHI: Lashing out at ‘military establishment’ of Pakistan for persisting prejudice against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) within its ranks, Altaf Hussain on Saturday night sought answers of the 14 questions he posed to the army chief a couple of days ago.
Speaking to a general workers meeting at MQM’s headquarters ‘Nine-Zero’ via video-link form London, he said the armed forces, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) or Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) should respond to his 14 queries.
Hussain said ISI’s new nominated director general, Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar had alleged that MQM workers from South Africa carry out targeted killings in Karachi. “I told him to arrest such workers at the airport or shoot them on the spot,” he added.
The MQM chief claimed that people belonging to ‘establishment’ had told American authorities at the US Consulate that his party was behind the killings of Allama Abbas Kumaili’s son and Mufti Naeem’s son-in-law. “This is absolutely absurd,” he remarked.
He, yet again, offered to resign from the party’s leadership, which was amicably denied by the workers.
Altaf says will soon unveil establishment's double standards
Criticising the military leadership, Altaf Hussain said that dictators imposed martial laws with the help of armed forces, however, no one dared to eradicate feudalism from the country.
Hussain said he does not want to divide the Sindh province. However, he added that countries or areas do not get divided by creating new administrative units or provinces. “By creating South Sindh, North Sindh, East Sindh and West Sindh, the Sindh province would not be divided.”

He also criticised the quota system enforced by former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of PPP in 1970. “Quota system was imposed for 10 years, but it still has not been revoked,” he added.
The MQM chief also flayed veteran Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, saying: “He is our elder, however, he does not know what he is doing.”
He claimed that PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Shah to follow his orders without any hesitation. “I supported Asif Zardari unconditionally for five years, but he did not accept my demands for the betterment of Karachi,” he said.

It is too funny and one cannot live without giving it a big laughter, a man who has been lulled in the lap of the establishment is trying to prove that he is being victimized, it is the soft handling of establishment for MQM so far, otherwise, he knows what he is doing in Karachi....

I used to be a non partisan considering that no prejudice exists
in Pakistan. However,the political movement by PTI
and others forced me think otherwise. Those people
did every thing that was anti state including civil disobedience. If MQM
would have done even 10% of it there could be all kind of
legal,police and military actions against. PTI leaders have
relatives in establishment,military and bureacracy so how
come they could be subject to any action. What a
standard not double but more than that....

Any one who is 70 Years old he can be a Mohajir all the rest Born in Pakistan are Pakistani. You can speak Sindhi, Urdu Pashto Balochi or Punjabi it does not matter we are all Born bred Pakistani's. When you stop creating divisions things will calm down. Instead of what you have been doing for the last 20 odd years, if you had put in your energies into creating jobs in Karachi the
people who trusted you would be better off. Your circle of influence is getting smaller by the day .

I do not know how much Mr. Hussain know of the history of quote system in the Indian sub-continent and how the Muslims benefited from that and how the refugees from India, which Mr. Hussain represents, benefited from that after the partition of the sub-continent. Now it has become unjust because the refugees from can not reap any benefit from it.

Brushing aside the facts given by Altaf Hussain, people should not foolishly ignore the reality and hardship of people of Karachi and Hyderabad face.what AH is saying is true, if you apply for a job in Sindh Government Karachiites specially face discrimination and are often told to bring domicile of Punjab or a recommendation letter or proof of affiliation to Provincial government. People are obsessed and have Altaf phobia that they are unwilling to disproof AH with evidence but rather attack AH and become personal.

The landscape of politics in karachi is changing fast. Pti is a real party emerging and bhai is aware about this fact and even he knows if fair and free elections will once held mqm would possibly unable to secure single seat that's why now he is doing politics on linguistic basis but people are more smart and intelligent than leader like bhai! Fazal are you aware that Mumlakete khudadad Islamic Republic of Pakistan allows dual nationality. Establishment should answer Altaf's questions to clear the air. Ignoring will breed further resentments. Establishment must not forget that they are answerable to people.

@shani Bhai talks intellectually and there is no leader who has a clear vision on actions against Terrorist and their supporters like PTI, nor its leadership was born out of defectees like Javed Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others.
