Iranian border personnel fire mortar shells inside Pakistan

QUETTA: The Iranian border force fired six mortar shells at Pakistan's bordering town of Mashkail in the early hours of Friday, a security official told Dawn.
The official who requested anonymity said that there was no loss of life in the incident and that the mortar shells landed near Mashkail.
He said the Frontier Corps (FC) swiftly retaliated and fired mortar shells in response, bringing the firing from the Iranian side to an end.
"Mortar shells fired by Iranian border personnel landed 3000 metres inside Pakistani territory,” he said.

The official stated that panic prevailed in the area owing to loud explosions that rocked the Pakistani town.
More troops were called to Mashkail and surrounding areas to effectively man the border.
Today’s incident comes a week after Iranian border guards attacked and killed an FC soldier and injured another three in Pakistan's Mand area.
Similarly, 30 Iranian border guards stormed inside Pakistani territory and took the residents of Nokundai, another Pakistani border town, hostage.
Recent incidents prompted the two countries to hold a joint meeting in Tehran with Inspector General Frontier Corps Major General Ejaz Shahid and Iranian guards Chief General Qasim Razai agreeing to boost intelligence cooperation with respect to the porous border.

The news suggests Pak Military is efficient in guarding its boundaries from enemy soldiers. Then why don't you show that efficiency in stopping terrorist infiltration from Pakistan to neighbouring countries through the border. Seems there is some problem in the attitude of Pakistan towards its neighbours.

Iran needs to understand it cannot win an all out war with Pakistan. There will be too much stacked against it (the entire Arab World, USA, Israel and the West). That said a conflagration is certainly not in Pakistan's interest. The fact that Pakistan does not even have a foreign minister (and more than its fair share of foreign policy challenges) speaks volumes for the ineptness of the Muslim League government.

We must stop Jundullah from using our territory to launch attacks inside Iran. This is one branch of Taliban which is still getting substantial aid from Iran's enemies. Jundullah is Taliban's international branch, their fighters have been seen as far away as Syria. Some fighting with Jubhat-ul-Nusra and some with their twin IS (former ISIS). We are caught between two IS, the Islamic State to our west and the Indian State to our east.
