@Denali How many Karachi police personnel are from Karachi? Most of Sindh rangers are not from Sindh as is the case of Karachi police. In Pakistan we believe in centralisation and every organ of the state must be staffed from a select few area district of the country. The problem with hiring locals is that he will not be as vicious on the locals as a nonlocal. This was the policy of the colonial British which our brown Sahibs have loyaly continued as is the case in many other aspects of Pakistan' s policy too.

What is the point of recruiting more people when they can't provide any protection to ordinary citizens which are killed in tens everyday.

@Aly khan Thats by far the STUPIDEST question I may have ever read on here. OBVIOUSLY by recruiting more people it means more boots on the ground to ensure safety and law abiding activity! If there weren't enough recruits or if recruitment were down then your baseless post would be more in place.

Mostly they selected people from Punjab not from Sindh and put name only Sindh Rangers. Still Punjab have hegemony in Pakistan. Because Sindh Renegers most offficer came from Punjab and even Renegers also faces nepotism inside it rather than pure merit.

We are proud of our armed forces and there supporting organizations. These are only elements that have a sense of integrity and professionalism. Hope the other institutions like police, railways, and wapda will also establish transparency and professionalism in their cadres.

How many from Karachi and Sindh ? as most of these are outsiders and doesn't understand the cultural sensitives of big cities nor they have any sense of ownership

Some of the above comments may sound pinching but those hurt should realise that unless a Karachiite sees people from his locality in the rangers he could never have any real regard for them and neither can such rangers have any sensitivity for the locals.

@Khan-Haqiqi / And how many young people from Sindh and Karachi, you know who want to join as mere soldiers and ready to lay down their lives? It is a very tough and low paying job and not many city boys want to do it- if at all they all want to be officers, problem is that you need soldiers for officers to command!! Now for the comment that these soldiers are outsiders and do not understand the sensitivities of the city people is bordering racism-these people are not from Mars, they are our fellow citizens, people like you and me and have every right to be in any city or town, particularly when they are there to "serve and protect"

@Abassin there is a document called domicile which is given to a person who is native to the place and these jobs are given to local domicile holders . In Sindh and particularly in Karachi this law has been violated and people imported from Punjab to be his in sheer violation of the law. Does Punjab give jobs to fellow citizens of karachi sand Sindh ? From here you get this idea that city boys are not interested in laying their life for the country these city boys incestors had laid their life for Pakistan. Take out news paper of 80's and you will see ad of jobs mentioning "citizens of Karachi and urban areas of Sindh can't apply "

Look impressive. Keep up the good work! We need more well trained and specialized forces. As far as where the recruits are from, who cares as long as they are the best, pass the grade and are from Pakistan !
