Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) Plan C, aimed at forcing an inquiry into alleged rigging in the May 2013 general election, partially paralyzed Karachi on Friday.
The Sindh government had said it would not allow a strike, stating earlier that government machinery would swing into action if anyone attempts to shut the city down by force.
PTI's earlier shutdown in Faisalabad saw one PTI activist killed during violent clashes with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supporters and police.
Despite fear of possible disturbances, the protest demonstrations concluded largely peacefully with no major incidents reported in the port city.

We in Karachi support completely PTI , although it looks PTI doing strike which is negative in it. However Protest by PTI in Karachi is not daily routine , They just choose this in last resort when all the doors of justice fail to deliver with 4 months as per law.
PTI is peaceful party and will bring only peaceful shut down ,
Karachi people we have to support PTI for betterment of Pak , we have seen these PPP and PML-N in last 7 years and they fail to deliver as well.

It is sad that drastic steps are necessary to make those few who consider themselves unaccountable to the people realise they also are just ordinary people, with more money than others because they did not hesitate to abuse their positions of trust. Stealing, whether it is a mandate, or money, or public land a la AZ closing off a public road is wrong. If we need to take one step backward in order to take two steps forward, so be it. It is more important to get the train back on the rails so that the journey proper starts, than to let potential.short term losses delay this.

Imran has built its tsunami in a constructive manner such that Government has lost all moral authority to continue in office. The filing of appeal to prevent disclosure or opening of ballot boxes in the 4 constituencies is sufficient to judge that it has made its intent clear that Government will go to any lengths to prevent opening of ballot boxes of the 4 constituencies as revelation of voter disenfranchisement by direct government involvement may cause its fall. The Court has a role to play without being accused of taking political sides as disenfranchisement is depriving the people of having any influence in the way Government is run as guaranteed by the Constitution, the Court duty bound to uphold the rights of voters denied by Nawaz Government from circumstantial evidence known to the Court,

So by blocking all major arteries in city, all emergency vehicles such a ambulances, fire trucks etc will also not be able to get through. Sick people having appointments at city hospitals etc., people with critical issues will also not be able to get through. While blocking certain roads can be justified, how is it possible to justify closure of so many alternate major roads that will effectively paralyse all life in the city.
People protest the world over, but not like this.

Shut down the PMLN family businesses in the form of sugar mills, milk factories, steel business and of course the Raiwind palace. @Prof Abdul Malik.... clichés are called clichés because they have no logic... You can give us an other way of protesting against our rights and we will follow that... I think parents of the children dying in Thar should also carry a peaceful protest against the Government because the Government response would be very positive against peaceful protest as apparent from CM's spokesman who stated that hundreds of children die in Pakistan every day why their is a hue and cry over children dying in Thar...

@Rajab Ali it's neither Imran khan or pti that has caused cut in the oil or electricity prices but on the other hand oil prices has fallen down in the international market from 112 dollar per barrel to 58 dollar per barrel , therefore govt of Pakistan also had to decrease prices in oil products including electricity. Thanks to oil price in international market not to Imran khan, by the way did Imran khan force international market to cut / reduce oil price against dollar in international market ? Wake up man !

Shame on PTI and Imran Khan to rob the people of Karachi of their daily wages, education for the children. They are doing the same as what MQM does. Forcing people to close their businesses , schools. In democracy this has to be the choice of people. The political parties do not have to use force.
PTI has a problem with the government, why punish normal people. Haven't they had enough of PPP and MQM atrocities in Karachi ??? now they have to put up with PTI too !!! What a shame !!!

MQM\PPP support is too much... And now that he has the naysayers are claiming that anyone can shut down the city. Give credit where it is due... Nothugs were hired.. no family members kidnapped... no casualties... This shut down was more peaceful than an average day in KHI. People protesting in streets probably felt freedom after a long time.

Burning of tyres and blocking of roads is considered political strength. What a shallow vision of change

The narcissist, perhaps, has come to the conclusion that his only expertise, apart from being an undisputed all-rounder of all-time in the world of cricket, lies in mindless disruptions, shut-downs, disgustingly managed public congregations (himself, unfortunately, was a poor victim of that), is the best he is left with to offer people.
Unfortunately, this unmanaged power-house of energy has, it seems, never bothered to seek a good 'mursheed', to guide his tremendous potential to achieve those heights that remain elusive ever!
The answers to our unresolvable quests, often lie under the ever-mounting mound of our own ego.

Shutting down a city means you are causing losses to people and businesses, which they can ill afford. In other words, you are hurting the citizens, the city and the country. Your point is noted. Any more losses to the pocketbook of the people will only hurt PTI. So, if I was Imran Khan, I'd cool it. In my humble opinion, any further disruption in the cities and the country will only hurt Imran's credibility. So instead of cutting your nose to spite your face, why don't you wait your turn in the next go around, meanwhile, go about it in a more constructive manner.

European are becoming aware of the intellect of our natio. About our nation the question used to be ,why can't the educated and intelligent people of Pakistan can't get together and throw away corruption from the top .? We can proudly tell now thatour people can do. How powerful they can be with discipline . How much logic and reasoning majority of Pakistan has.
