As Pakistan faltered at each step of the World Cup, it was Nasir Jamshed who truly understood and expressed what millions of Pakistanis at home and abroad were feeling.
No, we do not mean Pakistan’s ill-fated 28-years-old batsman Nasir Jamshed; rather, his “slightly rotund...slightly bitter" parody account on Twitter.
Jamshed, the parody, has tweeted a truly hilarious (often outrageous) blow by blow imagining of what has taken place — from the Pakistan dressing room, to out in the field.
Right from the plane ride over, Jamshed had us hooked.
While there were occasional potshots at other teams...
...the major focus of Jamshed's parody has been Team Green.
Jamshed kept us updated on his condition off the field...
...while also justifying some of his (many) failings.
At some points, the parody feels incredibly real (and painful). Just moments after Jamshed gets out...
And the naive optimism against West Indies was both cruel, and poignant.
Tweets related to pre-Zimbabwe preparation were equally cutting...
And then Jamshed took to the field against Zimbabwe, for the briefest of moments.
Followed by...
Drawing tears of frustration and laughter when...
Naturally Jamshed has clear views on who he thinks should be Pakistan’s player of the tournament.
And a healthy fear of (imagined) Waqar...
In all, it is (parody) Jamshed's naive, mostly obtuse, yet nuanced take on live matches that have catapulted him to over 35,000 avid followers.
And finally...

A good laugh is what Pakistani nation need. The whole nation doesn't like the captaincy skills of Misbah and it was writing on the well, finally proved to the PCB management through the hard way.

Misbah is the reason we even had a chance to win against Zimbabwe. Time to stop complaining like losers and appreciate all the good he has done. It's not like any other batsmen has been lights out or has played with common sense. The guy leads by example and I am glad he is the captain of Pakistan cricket team.

I have been following this account for quite sometime. I check it especially after pathetic performances by our team and I have found it to be very amusing.
I enjoy it a lot when poor people try to curse Nasir Jamshed thinking that it is his real account.

I hope Jamshed must NOT in the playing eleven at least in this World Cup. Later, work on him to realize that his foot work is wrong and come out of dream. Good batsman but lost his form and World Cup is not the correct time to give him more chances.

Problem is that other then Misbah we don't have any international level batsman. Misbah is slow and painful to watch but guy has been so consistent. They need to give him better openers or bring Afridi up. Try something that excludes Nasir Jamshed please. Maybe even Sarfaraz.

Extremely funny. I have not seen much of his batting earlier but I feel Pakistan needs to rethink its batting order & strategy. Wahib is good enough to bat at no.8 allowing 3 regular bowlers to follow. What is missing are scores from the top order. I cannot understand why Sarfraz is not keeping & Umar Akmal playing purely as a batsman. Why is Umar always coming to join Misbah in a crisis ?

Wahab Riaz dedicated his man of the match trophy to his parents.
Even Nasir jamshed is having something to his credit in his kit
1. Drop catches
2. Miss fielding
3. Duck outs
4. eating 10 to 15 balls for his contribution of 0 or 1
5. heavy weight
6. dull, inactiveness, lazy
All the above he dedicated to shariyar khan , moin khan , waqar younus, misbah , luden , mushtaq ahmed.

This was so funny that im stil laughing....however, i think today he was unlucky he slapped that ball out of the middle and found a fielder...he will come good but unfortunatley Pakistan need to get there act right now not against Ireland or South Africa.
I personally think they should drop Nasir....bring in Sarfraz opening against the UAE and see if he fairs better. Pakistan need to bat first pile on the runs and get them out as low as possible to neutralise that NRR or chase down the total in as little overs as possible. I would also consider resting Mohammed Irfan and try out Yasir Shah....you do not want the big man breaking down.

He really needs to be put out of the team, problem is his stance, shot selection, lack of foot movement. I cannot seem play even a single shot down the ground, basic thing needed for any opening batsmen.

Furthermore, he was wrongly selected ahead of Fawad Alam(not sure what bone PCB has with him), Azhar Ali, Asad shafiq, shoaib Malik and other more experienced players to replace Hafeez. He was middleing the ball and looked better in his short stint over there. So total failure of preperation and planning from management and coaching staff of PCB

This shows the caliber, sense of responsibility, and maturity of Nasir Jamshed. Instead of feeling ashamed, he is frolicking around. I really wish to know who is at the back of this useless creature, probably US president because of which he is still in the team.
Just see the way he batted against Zimbabwe, dived in the ground to stop the ball (dive which was not required, even commented by Wasim Akram) and the way he dropped the catch. Come on Nasir, I think you should take care of your Twitter account and say good bye to cricket. My 7 years old son can probably play better then you.
