HUM TV Awards 2015: 'Sadqay Tumhare' a clear winner

Hosted by Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sanam Jung, Vasay Chaudhry and Ahmad Ali Butt, the third HUM TV Awards 2015 declared the love-intrigue drama Sadqay Tumhare as the clear winner with it winning in 10 categories!

Sadqay Tumhare bagged 10 awards in the following categories:

  • Best Drama Serial (Popular)
  • Ehtesham Ud Din for Best Director
  • Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar for Best Writer
  • Mahira Khan for Best Actor Female (Popular)
  • Mahira Khan and Adnan Malik for Best Onscreen Couple
  • Samia Mumtaz for Best Actor in a Negative Role
  • Samia Mumtaz for Most Impactful Character
  • Adnan Malik for Best New Sensation (Male)
  • Rehan Sheikh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male)
  • Best OST sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Another favourite, Saba Qamar received the award for Best Actor Female (Jury) and her serial Bunty I Love You was given Best Serial Award (Jury).

Ahsan Khan also received the Best Actor Male (Jury) award for his drama Mausam.

Dawn.com's recent survey showed that the results of the awards weren’t unexpected because it turned out that the audience loved the intricate plot of Sadqay Tumhare and thoroughly enjoyed the acting of Mahira Khan and Samiya Mumtaz.

Viewers also appreciated Saba Qamar who won by a close margin with Mahira Khan, both of whom bagged the Best Actor Female award last night — one in the popular category and the other in jury.

Dubbed best actor by voters on Dawn.com, Adnan Malik also received the award for his debut performance in the Best New Sensation Male category with Hareem Farooq bagging the same award for female.

In the music category, Farhan Saeed won the award for Best Music Single for his song ‘Rooiyan’ and dedicated his award to the Peshawar attack victims; Best Music Video award went to Shahab Qamar for the song ‘Ghalti Main Sha'.

On the fashion front, Cybil Chowdhry took the award home for Best Model Female and Shahzad Noor received his for Best Model Male.

The third installment of the event was filled with zesty performances by the likes of Sajal Ali with Feroz Khan, as well as Syra Shehroz with Shehroze Sabzwari. Ahsan Khan who is normally paired with Mehwish Hayat shook a leg with Saba Qamar as Mehwish Hayat performed on the ever-raving ‘Billi’ from Na Maloom Afraad.

Popular Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan also crooned at the awards and made an appearance for the first time ever at a Pakistani event.

Not only that, Na Maloom Afraad, which was also given a token of appreciation at the event for introducing a new direction in the course of Pakistani cinema, was lauded by the attendees.

Fawad Khan who won his first Filmfare award in India got 'International Icon Award' for Bollywood film Khoobsurat.

The highlight of event was undoubtedly the trailer of the much-awaited film Bin Roye starring Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed. The film is slated for release this year, most likely on Eidul Fitr.

Honouring the legendary artists who have contributed to the industry, the Excellence Awards for music and TV were presented to Abida Parveen and Samina Peerzada respectively with Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Anwar Maqsood.
