TEHRAN: Iran's official IRNA news agency is reporting that four young Saudi pilgrims have died in Iran as a result of an accidental mass poisoning in their hotel.
The Monday report says the victims included a 14-year-old girl and three young boys, all aged 3 years.
Another 28 Saudi religious pilgrims were hospitalised over exposure to the poison, which is commonly used to kill insects and rats.
The incident took place in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, which is home to a major Shia Muslim Shrine.
The city is visited by nearly two million foreign pilgrims per year, coming from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain, Azerbaijan and the Indian subcontinent.
Authorities say they are investigating the incident.

@Taurus Very strange comments which fit nowhere. It's just a case of accidental poisoning...can not be any thing else for sure.

@ Taurus,
Your slanted view of things and accidents are a concern, try to see things in a more rational way.

Even if it was accidental, which I am sure it was; my guess is that Saudi is going to take political advantage out of it. Mark my words.

@muqri
even if it involves foul-play as you suggest, Iranian authorities are quite experienced in solving such cases...pilgrims are respected in Iran and anyone found guilty of negligence would be dealt accordingly

If tge sane had happened to Iranian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, there would have been a huge outcry and the Saudi Royal Family would be accused of mass murder and haters of the Ahl bait.

This is not the first time that guests in a hotel died due to vermin poisoning.It happens all over the world.So people stop insinuating things and pray for the bereaved family.

It's accidental, I'm sure of that. Canadian tourists died in Vietnam the same way. A Pakistani woman brought the same pesticide back to Canada a few months ago and she ended up killing two of her children. Those pesticides should be banned because they end up in the hands of untrained people.
