Good effort and showing clear picture of what was happening in Karachi under PPP rule. Dont run away to Dubai and live here and face the music. In the maps given above, the most important character was that of Uzair Baloch, Baba Ladla and their well wishers in the Sindh assembly and those benefited and purchased studio flats in Dubai. I can prepare a similar sheet, showing the rise of property value in Clifton, defence , dubai, and the details of persons who could afford to purchase.

The trend shows two things with clarity: 1. During the era of PPP, crime prospered in general. 2. During 2014-15, it appears that Rangers have done a good job for Karachi.
Among other observations I feel that MQM should change its policy and become a true political party rather than rule Karachi militantly.

Before seeing this graph I was of the opinion that the crime and other things has decreased in the metropolis. But considering the values to be just for first six months of 2015 I don't think much has changed. Probabilistically speaking, if we just simply double the values for each crime done in 2015, it can be noticed that the conditions are not 'considerably' improved, as paraded by the political and military leadership.
Having said that killings have been decreased no doubt and political and military leadership should be credited for that. But other than that there is still lot more to be done. In order to be sure this is a governed city not an amusement park, where anything can happen without any accountability of any sort.
All the crimes above can be controlled easily, in my opinion. All 'militant-wings' of political parties should be cleansed and apprehended, not just of MQM. Every criminal has a political backing, in our city, in my understanding.

Nice graphical presentation Dawn.
One of the things which is seems that we still lack is the use of technology. No doubt on Rangers efforts but our cyber crime bill and IT Ministry is still lagging the drum to be made on these thefts. An example of recent incident with Wasim Akram in which Car has wrong number plate is a big concern.
Mobile snatching is mostly very common crime but still we see to curb that, the efforts are less. Why still the snatch mobile are still present in Electronic market and other areas. Why they are still easy to sold in black market. One raid of Rangers make so much noise from market mafia that they protest the raid on roads give difficulty to normal citizen and next day ask Rangers that to curb crime. Much to right. Simply make the correct rules implemented. Rangers Zindabad.

This is the proof that how well Musharraf sahab handled Karachi and the people of Karachi, that was the only era when the elected people have got some space to work for the prosperity of their city and people. PPP's was the worst time the city has witnessed. I remember i visited Karachi right after some weeks of PPP's government formation and i saw all the under process construction under Mustafa Kamal was brought to halt and the city was left as orphan. @Harmony-1 Please see the data one more time. 1999-2007 was the best time for Karachi and MQM was also there. Only difference was Musharraf govt. accepted the elected power of Karachi and gave them full support. You can ask anyone most development happened in Karachi during that time. Starting from PPP govt. Karachi became the mess and all blame is on MQM. No one is questioning the rulers of that time. People of Karachi have seen NS govt twice in the past and he gave nothing to this city except yellow cabs. You can see how slowly development projects are going in Karachi. This is all political. Why Karachi is not getting it's fair attention? BTW I am not an MQM fan. Just trying to think out of the box. Please be rationale and don't paint just black and white.

WOW, a 99.7% success rate for solving kidnapping cases!!!
Knowing how competent our police force is, there are two possible explanations for this:
1. 'Case closed' for any reason (victim recovered alive or dead, or no progress being made) is counted as 'case solved'.
OR
2. The police are in on the kidnapping and help 'solve' the case after the ransom is paid.

The killings chart says it all - Musharraf era (1999-2007) the killings were under control.
Also 2013 is a year with the most crimes - most killings, most snatching. It was the last year of the PPP government and under their patronage the lyari gangsters must have gotten a free hand to get as much as possible since they might not have gotten the same freedom.

The charts show that during the time MQM had real power in the city during Mustafa Kamal's time as Mayor, the crime rate in Karachi was very very low. The rate shot up starting with the so called democracy. I request my fellow citizens to analyse the charts for the good times and for the times when things started going bad. MQM bashing will get us no where. In fact it can worsen the ethnic divide. Which is bad not only for Karachi but the whole country.

Also if we can see a summary of different policies that were implemented over the years to battle crimes and the affects it had. If you look at line chart; one would see the spike in May; out of curiosity and my training at Sindh Universty; my professor in his first class asked us "tell me three things about STATS" none of us answered correctly; he replied "Statistics is a Lie, a Lie, a Lie". Going back to data point for May the spike was because 43 Ismailis were killed in a bus attacked by terrorist, now subtract this number you will see a straight line. At least crimes for the month of May cannot be attributed to MQM as some of folks are bragging in comments.
Streets of Karachi are safer you bet they are ask the families of 4 police officers shot dead and the attack on MQM leader; and the loss of his driver.

Let us appreciate our LEAs who have really turned the tables for the locals. At the same time their sacrifices must not be forgotten because they are risking their lives for a few thousand rupees. Yet there are people out there who thinks that it is their job, no amount is sufficient when it comes to your life.

I would also like to encourage all Karachiites to stimulate efforts to bring him back into political fold or else otherwise we'll always be leached and burglarized at the hands of Sharifs and Zardaris of this country, and our beloved city as it had been for better parts of history will be left bruised and battled.
