@Naxalite and your point?
You are here and alive and well due to the sacrifices of these people. They sacrificed their lives so your children can live...The least we can do is sacrifice one day for them...

Proper accommodation should be made to minimize any inconvenience to the general public and provide safety to the participants of this religious activity. We can all live together in peace with compromise and respect.

Seeing the huge number of people in the processions, one can easily say that the religious extremists and terrorists have miserably failed to curtail Hussani message.
Now some people are bringing business in between to limit the centuries / decades old processions and other azadari activities. May be they don't know that everything cannot be measured in terms of money and nobody has the capacity to control azadari.

Very beautiful pictures and coverage. In an ideal world, this juloos is not supposed to cause financial losses to businesses and they should continue to work as usual. But, the present security situation dictates all those road blocks and slow-downs. Feel sorry for your loss @Naxalite.

Good show of spirit. I think big facilities should be built either inside or outside the city to accommodate such large gathering without much fair of any terrorist or unpleasant incident happening.

As much as I am for religious freedom, I am against public nuisance. Can't they celebrate privately and leave the streets alone.

I don't mind taking a break from my daily chores on Ashura. Ashura is a big day for shias and sunnis. every one should respect everyone's religious sentiments.

For those who made losses in business.
9and10Muharram is a public holiday asper govt. laws hence no business is required to be done. Holiday is announced in respect of occasion.
FYI, Billions of rupees of business is done during the first 10 days of Muharram in terms of Niaz Nazar and lots of mourners and people other than shia and other non muslim make the most of it. Its all because of The Great Sacrifice of IMam Hussain A.S

Muharram Processions are the symbol of love towards Hussain (a.s) the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) where people exercise different things and methods of showing their grief. These processions are held worldwide mostly by maktab-e-Ahlaibait (as) generally known as Shia-ne-Ali(as) but a large number of people from other communities and religions observe it too with same enthusiasm and besides the main reason of mourning for some one like the great Imam Hussain, these gathering and matami processions are the source of getting attention of the world for highlighting the Karbala incident, it's aftermaths, it's importance and specially the message of firm and unshakable standing against the biggest evil of time. Salam Ya Hussain (a.s).
