GUJRANWALA: The CIA police arrested on Monday three people for posting their assault rifles-wielding pictures on social media website Facebook, and seized three Kalashnikovs and 244 bore rifles from them.

The arrested people are Jawad Akram, Usman Arshad and Jawad Asad. City Police Officer Waqas Nazir praised the CIA staff for action and directed police to continue crackdown on such people.

TORTURED: A woman was tortured by her family for love marriage in the Garjakh locality on Monday.

Adnan with his cousin Chand, father Arshed and uncle Asghar called tortured his sister in village Ladhewala Warriach and confined her for three days. Later, they threw her near a canal in Hafizabad.

The passersby alerted police who shifted her to hospital.

REPOLL: Re-polling in five union councils of the Gujranwala Municipal Corporation will be held on December 30, according to the election commission.
