ISLAMABAD: The wife of Gohar Ayub, the former speaker of the National Assembly, passed away on Friday in Islamabad.

Zeb Gohar Ayub, who remained an MNA herself, was the mother of former minister of state for finance Omar Ayub Khan.

She had been suffering from lung cancer for four years and was being treated at a hospital in Islamabad, Omar Ayub’s personal assistant Mohammad Tariq said. Ms Gohar was the daughter of General Habibullah Khattak and the sister of General Ali Kuli Khan.

Namaz-i-Janaza for the former MNA will be held at 3pm on Saturday, December 19 in Rehana Village in Haripur. Qul will be held at 12:20pm on Monday (December) 21 at Omar Ayub Khan’s residence on main G.T. Road in Haripur.
