KARACHI: Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) is being celebrated across the country with religious fervour today, with the government having declared a public holiday.

Processions and Milad gatherings have been organised to mark the occasion, while major mosques in cities and towns have been festively illuminated to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

District administrations, government and private organisations have also made elaborate arrangements for illumination and decoration of buildings and parks.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in their messages to the nation, called for resolution of issues through reconciliation and dialogue in keeping with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
