ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and army chief Gen Raheel Sharif vowed on Wednesday to continue efforts to wipe out terrorism and extremism and said that the nation’s determination to counter the menace had not been affected by the strike in Charsadda.
“The prime minister and the chief of army staff agreed that the war against terrorism and extremism will continue with full might,” said a statement issued by the premier’s office after Mr Sharif talked to the army chief from Zurich on phone to discuss the Bacha Khan University attack.
Mr Sharif and Gen Raheel resolved that the fight against militancy, which enjoyed support of the nation, would be taken to its logical end of elimination of terrorism.
The prime minister directed security agencies to go after the patrons, financiers, handlers and planners of the attack.
Mr Sharif, in a conversation with Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali, said the university assault was an attack on Pakistan and “will see a ruthless response by the state”.
The prime minister said the terrorists and their financiers “will see our national resolve to eliminate terror”.
He said the nation was united (against terror) and announced one-day mourning on Thursday when the national flag would fly at half mast.

When will our Govt say a 'word' against India? India's defense minister had openly threatened after Pathankot incident and had said they will strike back, even when they had no proof against Pakistan! Everyone is aware of India's anti Pakistan activities in Afghanistan.

Mr Nawaz Shareef my humble request please protect public lives they are all exposed look a at the amount of resources that are being spent on politicians to protect their lives is nothing compared to what is available to public at large cut down on your trips that money can serve the ordinary citizens in making their lives safe I don't know what else to say please act !!!!!

Even the Indonesian President shortened his visit to Singapore and returned home immediately, when the attacks were underway in Jakarta!
PM of Pakistan on the other hand, was already jetting towards Zurich when attacks at the university were still underway, and death toll was still rising!
And those who hope to run the next government, are already comfortably sitting in New York!
Disgraceful! If this is what democracy is, no wonder many want to leave this part of the world and head to decadent West!

When majority of the nation is taking this charsadda attack in relation to the utterance of the Indian defence minister few days ago before the attack, it is beyond belief that Mr Nawaz Shareef and his ministers are absolutely silent about this grave and serious issue. If directly blaming India is beyond their capacity, why they cant issue a statement that investigation are ongoing from that angle as well? Questions are now being asked about how deep Mr Nawaz Shareef personal interests are in India which might be causing this rather strange behavior, specially when majority of Pakistanis are pointing fingers at India, they find their leader looking the other way!!

no point in blaming India when you don't have any proof. get your own house in order now. if India is funding certain groups then can't be difficult to find out which groups and eliminate those first. by elimitate I mean military courts for every member of a banned group, active militant or not. An example needs to be made for deterrence.
