PESHAWAR: In wake of the Bacha Khan University attack, security in schools across the country has been beefed up while mock security exercises were carried out in many others since last week.
The Elite Police Force personnel took part in a number of drills to fight against militants in various schools of Peshawar on Friday.
In Karachi, students and parents were informed on Tuesday that all institutes under the Army Public Schools & Colleges System in the city will remain closed till January 31 due to security concerns.
Earlier on Monday, the Punjab government announced closure of all public and private schools in the province from Jan 26 to 31, citing "extremely cold weather" as the reason.

Feeling sad to see the smiling Innocent faces ... One thing is sure this is not the way to tackle terrorism .... you may need to protect each and every school/collage/office/public places which is not possible even for developed countries ... Go after them and don't spare them at any cost on basis of cast/race/religion ... Please don't consider this as advice from Indian brother but its humble request

Very honest and sincere advice. I hope we can truly and absolutely support and help each other to tackle the terrorists who are not Hindus or Muslims, they are just lost souls and ultimate losers, who do not know the worth of the beautiful gift of life the creator has given to them or their fellow beings. I would simply say that someone (primarily mothers, fathers, close relatives and then teachers and the rulers) had missed their role in making them realize the true meanings of life.

Do you think terrorist gives you this much time to save children lives? Does terrorist make children hostage or just killed them ?
Don't make us fool show these stupid exercises. Bring out with some original plans. Right now Army takes 40 minutes to reach attacked site, only reducing this response will save the lives.

this is heart breaking and tragic. The children deserve to be brought up among books, arts, science, games and ideas but instead we get this. May God have mercy on these innocent souls.

While appreciating,Pak government efforts ,i feelthat all exercices will yield reslys more effctive if u/mentioned technology is used
1:- wifi PANIC devices should be provided to the head of security staff, connected to police and military offices ,i case of any mis-happening should switch on,
2:-CCTV of high quality should be installed on main gate and points of sensitive, connected with a monitor.
3:-all CCTV should be checked over night and monthly basis.
4:-high range walkie talkies covering at least 4/5/kilo meters should be provided to the guards.
5:-monthly drills of terror should be carried out with out fail.
6:-First Aid knowledge should be provided to all Guards and Teachers,First aid boxs and stretchers should be a must for all colleges and schools.
We are atomic Power and should act like befitted for that.
last but not we salute our police and Pak fauj jawans.

@Adnan Even that would not be sufficient. it takes seconds for an AK-47 magazine to get emptied. We need to nab the terrorists in their home. We need a ruthless approach. Nab their financers, sympathizers and facilitators.
