ABBOTTABAD: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Abbottabad, on Thursday announced the results of the Secondary School Certificate examinations with the 76.54 per cent pass rate.

BISE controller (examination) Professor Jehanzeb Khan declared the results during a special ceremony here, where high-achievers, their parents and heads of their respective educational institutions were in attendance.

Of the 58,253 students, who sat the examinations, 44,585 were declared successful. The pass percentage was 86.58pc in Science group, 61.73pc in Humanities group, and 89.27pc in Computer Science group.

Syeda Sadia Taveel of the Pakistan International Girls Public School & College Abbottabad secured the overall first position in the examinations by securing 1,035 marks followed by Mushtaq Ahmad of the Abbottabad Public School & College with 1,026 marks and Warda Jamal of the Hazara Public School & College Haripur with 1,023 marks.

In Science group (girls), the first top position went to Syeda Sadia Taveel with 1,035 marks and second to Warda Jamal with 1,023 marks.

The third position was jointly shared by five students, including Sana Gul Shah of Garden Public school Mansehra, Hifza Bibi of Al-Quran Beacon House School Sand-i-Sar Mansehra, Samra Shakoor of Jinnah Jame Public School Haripur, Aqsa Bibi of Al-Quran Beacon School Sand-e-Sar Mansehra and Hina Rehman of Al-Imtiaz Academy Abbottabad by securing 1,015 marks each.

In Science group (boys), Mushtaq Ahmad of the PIPS Abbottabad stood first with 1,026 marks, while the second and third positions were grabbed by Malik Fahad (1,017 marks) and Haider Shahbaz Butt (1,014 marks) respectively, both the students of Pakistan Scout Cadet College Battarasi.

In Humanities group (girls), the first position went to Amina Bibi of Pakistan Academy Bedaddi Haripur with 892 marks, second to Muqaddas Bibi of GHS Chamhatti Abbottabad with 874 marks and third to Saira Arshad of Mahjabeen Public School Paswal Abbottabad with 872 marks.

In Humanities group (boys), Malik Faisal of GHS Chajjian Haripur bagged the first position with 810 marks and private candidates Mohammad Younis (807 marks) and Abdul Haq (800 marks) second and third respectively. Twenty top positions were shared by 58 students, including 40 girls.
