TANK/SWAT: Unknown persons wearing army uniform kidnapped a polio official and his uncle in jurisdiction of Gomal police station here on Tuesday.

Israr, brother of the kidnapped official, reported to the police that unknown persons wearing army uniform sneaked into their house during the night and bundled away his brother, Ilyas Khan, anti-polio in-charge in Sarnagzona union council, and his uncle, Abdul Waheed. The local police registered case against the unknown persons and started investigation.

The motive behind the kidnapping was yet to be ascertained.

In Swat, the Counter-Terrorism Department, Malakand region, arrested an alleged terrorist from Mingora bus stand on Tuesday.

CTD officials said that the outlaw Akhtar Mohammad is a resident of Kalakot, Swat, adding he was involved in torching a middle school in Matta tehsil in 2008.

He was shifted to an unknown location for further interrogations. — APP
