MANSEHRA: A woman teacher on Friday moved the court of the additional district judge seeking orders for the local police to book the vice chancellor and registrar of Hazara University for harassing her.

The judge summoned the Shinkiari police station SHO to appear before the court on Nov 22 to explain position on non-registration of FIR against VC and registrar and adjourned hearing until then.

In the petition, Associate Professor of the HU Botany Department Zubeda Chaudhry insisted the Shinkiari police station SHO refused to register FIR against the VC and registrar over her harassment and even her requests to senior police officials in the district for it fell on deaf ears.

She alleged that HU VC Dr Idrees Ahmad and registrar Dr Manzoor Hussain harassed her on the false charge of denying marks to a student in tests and quizzes.

The teacher added that the registrar also detained her in his office, where the VC threatened to ruin her selection records.

She said the police turned up and freed her after she called the district police officer for help.

Ms Chaudhry said the court should issue orders to the Shinkiari police station SHO to book VC and registrar for harassing her.

When contacted, registrar Manzoor Hussain declared allegations ‘rubbish’ and said the university had more than 7,000 female students and 100 female faculty members but he even didn’t think about harassing anyone of them.

He insisted the petitioner was a habitual absentee, who moved the court after the administration served a show cause notice on her over the unauthorised absence from duty.
