DADU: Two teenage cousins drowned when they were bathing in Pir Branch (water channel) to beat the heat during sizzling hot day in Qadir Bakhsh Jamali village near Bhan Sayedabad town on Tuesday.

Abdul Khaliq Jamali, 16, and his cousin Nadeem Jamali, 15, sons of primary school teachers, Abdullah Jamali and his brother Jalal Jamali, slipped into deep waters and could not get back to the canal’s bank, said villagers.

Their bodies were found after five hours of hectic search by local divers, they said.

Abdullah Jamali, father of late Abdul Khaliq, told media persons that no official of Sehwan taluka administration came to help them despite being informed.
