SUKKUR: Dead body of an unknown teenage boy, whose age appeared to be between 15 and 18 years, was found in Rohri Canal at Bhatti Bridge in Baraloi, Khairpur district, and taken out by police on Thursday.

Villagers told local media persons that they spotted the body in the canal and informed police, who had it taken out.

Babarloi SHO said the body was transported though Edhi ambulance to the civil hospital for post mortem examination and would be placed in the morgue till its heirs came forward to claim it. The body had not identified yet, he said.

Separately, an eight-year-old Musab son of Khadim drowned in a pond in Jando Dero village near Madeji town, Shikapur district, on Thursday.

Villagers said that the victim’s family took out the dead body from the pond and shifted it on a motorcycle to Madeji hospital where doctors pronounced the boy dead upon arrival.

The body was handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities, they said.—
