KHAIRPUR: Two kidnapped women freed

KHAIRPUR, Oct 15: Two women of the Jogi community, kidnapped in retaliation after a girl of the Shar community had eloped with a Jogi boy, were released on Saturday night.

The women, Alam Khatoon and Munawar Khatoon, were kidnapped in Pir Kalo village of the Thari Mirwah taluka on Thursday night.

District Nazim Pir Niaz Hussain Shah and Thari Mirwah Taluka Nazim Attaullah Phul met elders of the Shar community in Rasoolpur.

The nazim said that the two women were handed over to him on a condition that the girl of their community, Seema Shar, what they said was kidnapped by a Jogi boy would also be released.

The nazim asked the Shar community for a two days time for return of the girl.

Later, Pir Niaz met elders of the Jogi community in Khariri town and handed over the two women to Thari Mirwah UC nazim Roshan Jogi and Liaquat Jogi.

Khairpur DPO Javed Jiskani was also present on the occasion.

The nazim made it clear to the elders of Jogi community to return Seema Shar kidnapped by Nazim Jogi within two days.

Meanwhile, Thari Mirwah town was opened for business on Sunday as conditions returned to normalcy after three days of tension.

BOOKED: Police booked 13 people, including the former UC nazim and his father in a murder case.

Complainant Hussain Bux, brother of deceased Mohammad Hassan Kalhoro, lodged an FIR at the Mangi Mari police against former UC Saghiyoon nazim Aijaz Bughio, his father Wahid Bux Bughio, Ali Dino, Raban, Allah Warayo, Gulzar, Bakhshal, Mukhtiar and Sheral.

The complainant alleged that Aijaz Bughio opened fire on the deceased and also took away 70 goats.
