US deports Kalbe Sadiq to Britain

SAN FRANCISCO, March 26: The United States has refused entry to a prominent Indian Shia religious scholar, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq. He landed at the Chicago airport with a valid US visa, but was detained at the airport and deported to London. Maulana Sadiq, who is also vice chairman of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, held a multiple-entry visa, His son Kalbe Husain said, adding that his father has visited the US several times even after the 9/11 attacks. Maulana Sadiq, who is also president of the Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust, visits a number of countries, including the US, during Muharram and Ramazan for delivering sermons.
