The barriers and check-points have been removed - finally, the surrounding area of Bagh-e-Jinnah and Frère Hall looks free and open. Frere Hall and the beautiful Bagh-e-Jinnah opened its doors to the public on February 22, 2011. Frere Hall, houses a library as well as a gallery full of paintings by Pakistan’s iconic artist Sadequain. This reopening serves as a welcoming news for the Karachi citizens who had greatly missed spending lazy afternoons and Sunday family trips to the vicinity which was once bustling with activity.

Excited about the reopening, Dawn.com decided to go ahead and give you a sneak peak of the Hall and the beauty it still holds.–(Photos & Text by Eefa Khalid)
