The barriers and check-points have been removed - finally, the surrounding area of Bagh-e-Jinnah and Frère Hall looks free and open. Frere Hall and the beautiful Bagh-e-Jinnah opened its doors to the public on February 22, 2011. Frere Hall, houses a library as well as a gallery full of paintings by Pakistan’s iconic artist Sadequain. This reopening serves as a welcoming news for the Karachi citizens who had greatly missed spending lazy afternoons and Sunday family trips to the vicinity which was once bustling with activity.
Excited about the reopening, Dawn.com decided to go ahead and give you a sneak peak of the Hall and the beauty it still holds.–(Photos & Text by Eefa Khalid)

I went to Karachi first time in 2008 and stayed at the Sindh Club. I went to see the Hall and was astounded how we had maintained something this beautiful. I am glad to see it has recieved the attention from the authorities.
Karachittes should organise themselves to preserve and better their city.

It is Karachi because it remained no go area for so long and no paan eaters vendors and the uncontroled population, which would have destroyed it otherwise.
I hope now as it is back to an open area it still remains as clean as it is.
