Vivian Maier, who worked as a nanny, scoured the streets day and night, venturing into strange and sometimes dicey neighborhoods. Her constant companion was a camera. Over five decades, she shot tens of thousands of photos. Few were seen by anyone but her. That's the way she wanted it. But that's all changed now, thanks to John Maloof who stumbled upon a huge grocery box in an auction house, discovered her work and has now become her champion.–AP Photo

Have been fasinated by photography for decades and when I came across the fact that you came across 'by accident' of course, Ms. Vivian Maiers' photos. It just floored me. Her pictures truly tell a thousand words and then some. Would love to see them all. Also taking a basic photography this spring semester and writing a short essay on her for my honors art class.
Thanks for introducing her to us. Am saddened that she passed on. But we are truly remember her by all the photos that will soon becoming to light.
