KARACHI, Aug 4: Seventy-four players from all over the city took part in the ‘The Scrabble Battle’, a tournament organised by St Patrick’s Boys High school in collaboration with Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA) was held at the St Patrick’s High School on Saturday.

In the junior category, Javeria Mirza of Karachi Grammar School was the winner with four wins and a spread of 474 while Javeria Salman of Mama Parsi School finished second. Moizullah Baig of Falcon House Grammar School finished third.

In the senior category, the youngest player in the group Mohammad Jahanzaib brushed aside much older competitors to take the trophy with four wins and a spread of 754. Ovais Ahmed took the second position while Asad Merchant finished third.

Later, Mr Dolan Rodrigues, the dean of St Patrick’s School gave away the prizes to the winners and said that the school will organise such events on a regular basis in future.
