RAWALPINDI: Member National Assembly (MNA) and son of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Ali Musa Gilani on Monday appeared before an investigation team of the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and recorded his statement in the drug quota case.

Musa Gilani categorically denied all charges leveled against him in the Ephedrine quota case, saying that he has nothing to do with it.

Denying any link with the case, the MNA said he was unfamiliar even with the name of the drug and was being wrongly involved in the case. “All allegations leveled against me are baseless. I did not even hear the name of the drug before this case,” he added.

The ANF investigation team comprising Commandant Brigadier Faheem Ahmed Khan, Deputy Director Major Imtiaz and Deputy Director Abid Zulfiqar questioned Musa for five hours.

Speaking to media representatives, counsel of the MNA Chaudhry Fawad said that a detailed reply has been submitted before the Supreme Court.

He said the ANF was investigating the case and it has found no evidence against Ali Musa Gilani, adding that his client was wrongly implicated in the case.

He said the ANF was holding trial of Musa Gilani without any solid evidence, which is inappropriate.

Fawad questioned that how a person, who is a witnesses in the case, could lead the team investigating the same case.

LAHORE: Syed Ali Musa Gilani, the younger son of the prime minister, is returning home from South Africa to attend the Supreme Court hearing in ephedrine import case on April 19, according to his lawyer.

“Musa Gilani is returning to join the Supreme Court proceedings on April 19,” a counsel for the prime minister’s son said on Sunday.

Fawad Chaudhry said a team of legal experts would accompany Mr Gilani to the court to defend allegations against him.

He said there was no truth in the allegations as three men had been “arrested using Mr Gilani’s name to deceive the people of Bahawalpur, Multan and Kharian”.
