GUJRAT Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar has said more than 950 militants have been killed since the operation was launched in the tribal areas.

He added that the operation will continue until the threat of militancy is completely eradicated.

Talking to reporters at his local office on Wednesday, the minister said that security agencies and forces are giving the militants a tough time by pounding their hideouts in the tribal areas.

The minister revealed that 90 people have been arrested in connection with the Marriott hotel suicide attack and that security agencies have found concrete clues which would lead to the arrest of the terrorists.

Commenting on President Asif Zardari`s visit to America, he said that the President has strongly objected to the unilateral attacks by the United States on Pakistani territory in his meeting with President Bush.
