LAHORE, May 6 Fancied mare Fakhr-e-Sialkot staged a stirring charge in the home stretch to land the fourth race during the midweek Lahore Gymkhana floodlit races at the Racecourse on Wednesday night.

Without a victory in 16 starts this season, the 5-2 shot Fakhr-e-Sialkot was given a perfect ride by riding boy Pervez Bhatti to win by a big margin of five lengths.

Stalking with early pacesetter Jugnu before moving into contention on the final turn, blue-roan mare Fakhr-e-Sialkot out-sprinted the even-money favourite colt.

Earlier, the Lahore Race club (LRC) stewards changed her rider at the starting gate, putting on Pervez Bhatti in place of Imran Pervez.

A race later, fancied bay gelding Jal Thal, ridden by riding boy M. Atif, stormed to victory in the fifth and supporting event, the Sialkot Plate class VII division I gone over 1,000 metres.

The five-year-old gelding, backed at 2-1, beat bay filly Imran Choice by over four lengths.

Even-money favourite colt Arham Prince put up a very dismal show under riding boy Mazhar Ali to finish a poor third.

Half-money favourite filly Jungle De Malka won the feature event leading from start to finish post finally sparing about three lengths over mare Pawan Princess. Once More and Good Idea completed the frame after the last-minute withdrawals of Finance Minister and Unique.

The punters suffered heavy losses when only one favourite obliged them in six event card. The only favourite to oblige was Jungle De Malka.

The other five races were won by the horses available at 5-2 or long shots.

The punters' misery started from right the first race when heavily backed Hare Lady was beaten by long shot bay filly Naughty Girl, who proved really naughty for the favourite backers. The filly was flawlessly ridden by M. Zulfiqar.

In the following race, the 60-100 favourite bay mare Magnolia was beaten by rank outsider colt Kabaria whose was a shock win for punters.

Another long shot, Jogan sailed past the winning post ahead of the field in the third race while the favourite chestnut horse Mabrook ran off the board.
