The bandleader behind the percussion-based act, Overload, Farhad Humayun recently launched a track online of himself singing a verses of Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare. Alternatively titled Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?, Sonnet 18 is one of the most popular sonnets out of the 154 by William Shakespeare. Farhad describes his foray into singing this as, “my adventures in falsetto and respect to William Shakespeare, Bryan Ferry and David Gilmour.” The song was recorded in Farhad's Riot Studio and the guitar section is by Hassan Omar.
Farhad has in the past sung sporadically in concerts in Lahore. His voice carries emotional depth and his rendition of Sonnet 18 was very moving. This is perhaps the first time the drummer has released a recorded track of his singing.
