PARACHINAR: At least 12 people were killed in a clash between two tribes in a row over the distribution of irrigation water in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region on Friday, reports quoted officials and residents as saying. The clash occurred between the Shalozan and Shalozan Tangi tribes in upper Kurram.

Clashes between the two tribes had been going on for a week and at least 27 people have been killed as a result. More than 40 people have been injured in the clashes.

Heavy arms were used in fighting and several people were also injured during today's clash.
