Earlier, two other players won their opening matches. Shehram accounted for Mohammad Asif Toba by four frames to one while Sajjad defeated Nauman Awan by the same margin.
Sindh's Abdul Sattar, who is seeded 14th, pulled off the biggest upset by imposing a 4-1 victory over top seed Asjad Iqbal, the winner of second NBP Snooker Cup.
Sattar won 56-31, 65-21, 41-66, 75-9, 63-42.
Asjad, the runner up of the 35th national championship, opened his campaign on a winning note outplaying Rambel Gul 4-0 in the morning.
