KARACHI, Oct 20 The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) has accepted the entry of Mohammad Sajjad for the World Snooker Championship, being staged in Damascus, Syria, from Dec 4 to 15, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced on Wednesday.
Sajjad failed to qualify for the world championship as per PBSA policy after poor performance in Del Monte National Ranking snooker championship.
“Though two top cueists on the national ranking are eligible to represent the country in the world competition, our Executive Committee approved Sajjad's entry as a special case,” PBSA chief Alamgir Shaikh said.
Imran Shehzad (Punjab) and Sohail Shehzad (Sindh) will represent the country along with Sajjad in the 12-day contest.
The PBSA has decided to hold training camp of the national team after the Asian Games.—APP
