ISLAMABAD: The number of patients affected with the dengue virus has now mounted to over 5,000 across Pakistan.

Moreover, the death toll as a result of the disease also rose to 31.

According to Pakistan's National Health Department (NHD), the number of confirmed dengue patients in the country has risen to 5,050.

Out of the 5,050, 2,350 patients are in Sindh, 1,885 in Punjab and at least 158 dengue patients are present in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a private news channel reported.
