HARIPUR, Nov 27: Two girls were shot dead here on Saturday. One of the victims was murdered allegedly by her father for doubtful character. None of the accused was, however, arrested so far, police said.

Saddar police quoted Shazia Naqvi, daughter of Sajjad Hussain Shah Naqvi of Mohalla Haji Imam Pir, Sera-i-Saleh, as saying her younger sister Bushra Naqvi, 18, a student, did not go to college on Saturday and when their father sought the reason she said she was sick.

After this, the complainant said, their father left the house and when he returned after some time he found Bushra missing. However, when she got back home their father yelled at her and started beating her and shot at her during fit of anger.

The injured girl was taken to DHQ hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. However, the accused managed to escape from the scene. According to police the accused was suspecting her for moral turpitude.

In the second incident, a young girl was also shot dead in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station on Friday night.

Dildar Bibi, wife of Khan Afsar of village Ainpur Sera-i-Nehmat Khan told the police her daughter Shabana Bibi, 21, was mentally retarded and used to go missing.

On the evening of Eid, the complainant said, Shabana, again went missing and they thought she would come back as usual, but she did not return. On Saturday morning, she (complainant) was going to nearby fields when she found her daughter dead.

Police said the victim had received bullet injuries and it was not clear weather she was sexually assaulted or not. However, the complainant did not nominate anyone in the FIR saying that she had no enmity.
